A 180m2 textile set for a dance piece by MerleIMischkeIKlee, that is forever changing and has multiple identities, made almost entirely from recycled materials. The huge panels of orange fabric hanging in the space, covering the entire floor and the audience’s legs are like the connective tissue of a large organism. It can be spread out to serve as a floor, can turn into a collection of walls, or be lifted to form a ceiling.

“Why change?” is a production of Merle | Mischke | Klee and was co-produced by Theaterwerkstatt Pilkentafel Flensburg. Rehearsal residencies were made possible by Dampfzentrale Bern (CH) and TILT (NL). The project is funded by the Ministry of education and training, science, research and culture of the state of Schleswig-Holstein and is supported by Fonds Darstellende K\u00fcnste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR.
